Yeah, much impressed by a car chase in the 48!

Hi oldschooldumbass, I played "The Weasel" thanks for your comments regarding the acting as none of us are actors (I'm a tech in "real life").

Honest opinion, I would give a raitng on the story , but the cinematography is so bad. I cant see anything the lighting is really to dark. Dont do lowkey unlessu r good at it. Also the ADR is so offsync I just cant follow it. The background music is terrorbile, ud have been better off having no music. Sorry but we learn form misteaks. Acting was pretty good :D

I liked the story and the editing, the acting was ok to, the trick to getting that dark Film Noir look is to use lights with gels, if you get a section of the shot well lit in a dark room, then the shades of black will be much more bold.
but hey, its the 48!! and I'm no more pro than the next guy :)
alot of teams didn't make it.

Thanks for the reply. I probably could have gelled the lights to pull out one color tonally to adjust lighting but instead simply put a cookie in front of a focused light. We decided early on not to spend too much time lighting as we were a small team and having things like car chases and fights took along time to shoot and edit. I guess the problems that people seem to be having are with the first scene, this was the last that we shot and it probably didn't receive the care that it deserved.

Hey thanks for the comment, was going for a 50's 16mm look to the thing which is often pretty dark, to be honest I would have graded some of the cuts a little darker to match if I had the time. There is no ADR, the mike died so all the sound is from on camera, the offsync may be a youtube compression thing.
