The leading YouTube authority (but not expert) on Bay Area Bridges, NorCalCorsello, this time discusses the future proposals regarding the Bay Bridge. How am I an authority? Simple, the view count has spoken. I made a video last summer called "Suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge." I'll link it I guess...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXuV8MsZroI
Besides getting more than 20,000 views, it created a furor on the comment section of that particular video. A link follows to just the comments... if it works:

Further, that video was monumental, because I later recant and agree in another video, called "Suicide Barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge Reconsidered" that I suppose I should link here:

The video "Bay Bridge Bike Lane" is monumental because I admit finally how self-important I really am.
Anyway, since so many people felt the opinion of NorCalCorsello was so important, and my defining characteristic, worthy of being hated, I can not ignore weighing in on a decision about the future of the Bay Bridge span between San Francisco and Treasure Island.
If bicycle enthusiasts of San Francisco have their way, a bike lane will be added to the span between SF and Treasure Island. You see, San Francisco has to "keep up" since the new span already in construction between Treasure Island and Oakland will have a bike path and sidewalk... by 2012. The clock is ticking cycling San Franciscans, so get on with it! Anyway, recently funding was approved to do a study investigating the feasibility. So I have some important advice for the planning committee research. Listen up... it's in my video.
Gotch ya! Finally, I don't give away the thrust of my video in my description. No spoiler, this time you must watch if you want to know. Bridge feasibility research people, take my advice it may be worth $45 million to you... if the Golden Gate Bridge study is any lesson to you.

In the meantime, the Muni has a route from CalTrans Terminal in SF to Treasure Island. Take you bike to TI and ride your bike. It is beautiful and has gorgeous views of SF and the East Bay (yes, Alameda County). By the way, the Island is flat and therefore very user friendly for the casual bike rider.

So yeah, lately I've been into biking. In the past week or so, I've probably biked 25 miles. I've gone into the next town and am getting quite comfortable riding around town.
The problem is that drivers are major assholes. I was almost runover once, I was run off the road once (same day), and cars have passed me illegally on double yellows.
I stick to sidewalks and any paths I can find, but some areas don't have them, which pisses me off. Nonetheless, it is much fun.
Lookup I-205 bike path.

Long hair is awesome. Don't ever cut it.
anyway as a amateur enthusiast (I guess) of biking, I would support this. This country is so biased in favor of cars, it is sickening. We need more rail roads and more bike paths.
Personally, I'd like to see every interstate replaced with a two line railroad at least, maybe one if that's all they need b/c some rural areas won't get many trains. I can guarantee a substantial increase in GDP thanks to the increased efficiency.
and here we go again...
