I Don't Care Much - Cabaret

Alex, a graduating senior, performs his emotional rendition of "I Don't Care Much" from the production of CABARET at the University of California- Berkeley.

UC Berkeley is the #1 public institution in the country and while the city of Berkeley and the San Francisco Bay Area are major arts epicenters, the school itself does not offer a musical theatre program, department, or even a class. Unlike the University of Michigan (U of M), and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM).

Zi Alikhan directed this production for Cal's Barestage Productions. All of the actors are undergraduates, but many have professional theatre credits.

Amazing. This was extremely emotional, which I enjoyed, you don't even have to watch, you can just listen and hear the emotion in your voice.

WOW. I am in shock. I just can't believe it. This is what I have been looking for from this song for the LONGEST time. Even Cumming didn't capture it as beautifully as this man. If I were in that theater You would have to hold me down because I most certainly would have given him a standing ovation

Interesting casting and design. Typically the Emcee has been a frail, feminine man, and wearing a dress for this song.

As far as the performance, it's passable. As a graduating senior, I don't think he's quite as good as he should be. Maybe it was a choice to go flat on certain notes, but on some of the louder notes it just sounded painful, for the audience more so than the Emcee.

wow, way to leave it all on the stage. this is my favourite song from cabaret, and that was sung with so much emotion. simply beautiful. and a hell of a voice. :)
