Great show :)

Oh I've already taken the dive. I welded all the cracks in the fender lips and 3 rust spots in the body and a lot of holes all over. I widened the rear fenders for tire clearxnce, and rewiring it and a bunch of other drive train stuff,

13's are easy with a 340. Put a 440 in it and never look back. Money spent on prep on a Small Block is the same as a Big Block.. A 440 or a 498 will fit the chassis. A guy that races with me runs 10.4's with a 498 & B1 heads.. Get 'er done.. ;=)

People are worried about EDP coated panels. Reseach it. Google it. They are good to go. 25 Years body, I clean panels both sides, your going to handle both sides, with Dawn dish washing soap, no scents, no lotions. Clean with Windex or other glass cleaners, no scents, no lotions. 36-80 grit, clean as above, then body filler. 220 wet with Dawn dish soap, clean wet sanding paper frequently and your substrate with wet towel, rinse no soap.

@Skeletoil I too think EDP is a great process however, every once in a while you run into aftermarket panels that weren't prepped properly and the EDP might not feather in ares or over the entire panel in other instances. If this is the case stripping the EDP or feathering it back is recommended.

Hey James, I 'm installing a 2 piece trunk pan in my 1971 challenger the pan is bare metal , should i use a weld tru primer on the bottom of the trunk pan that is being covered by the frame rail? Also should I spray weld thru primer on top of the frame rail that the top of the trunk pan is covering? Thanks - Tarik

@bigpencap Don't have much experience with the weld through primer myself, the people I learned from always talked bad about the contamination of the weld so I never tried it. If it was me I'd prime the pan with epoxy then a coat of surfacer primer before I installed the pans. Then I'd prep the areas to be welded once that cured. and of course seal the bare metal after the pans in.
