Guinness World Records 2010 Gamers Edition, the definitive gaming records book, is out TODAY (21st January) and its bursting with bonkers, bizarre and brilliant records from the ever expanding world of video gaming.

21-year-old Brit Lisa Courtney from Hertfordshire has reached record fame with her staggering selection of Pokémon memorabilia. With 12,113 pieces collected over 13 years she has fended off fellow fanatics from across the globe for the coveted Guinness World Record title for the Largest Collection of Pokémon Memorabilia. This video contains exclusive footage of Lisas collection at her home (now at more than 13,000 pieces) that she calls the Pokémon Centre Europe.

From the real to the virtual world, and hot on Lisas heels, is Lara Croft, with the Tomb Raider series celebrating six records accolades in this years edition. With titles such as the Most Successful Video Game Heroine and the Most Detailed Video Game Character, amongst others, she proves gaming queen of the digital world.

The top 50 video games series of all time are also announced today, as voted for by thousands of visitors on www.guinnessworldrecords.com/gamers. Halo (Microsoft 2001) has fought its way to the number one top spot. With its excellent design, perfect controls and unparalleled multiplayer options it wins the prestigious record for the Most Popular Video Games Series of All Time. Securing the second place with its awe-inspiring game design and monumental popularity is Call of Duty (Activision 2003). Its currently the most significant multi-format shooter in the world. And with its ability to constantly push boundaries and appeal to all ages, The Legend of Zelda (Nintendo 1986) follows closely behind at number three.

A nostalgic flashback to the 80s and gamings most famous icon Mario (Super Mario Bros Nintendo 1981) also makes it into the Top 10 at number six. Mario has starred in an unbroken streak of phenomenal games since his debut in 1981 and has become one of the most loved and recognised gaming characters through generations.

If thats not enough to satisfy a gamers curiosity, there are plenty of other pages packed with remarkable records..from the Hottest Video Game that shoots fire at you if you step a foot wrong (in a fire-proof suit, of course), to the Highest Grossing Video Arcade of All Time.the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamers Edition has it all!

  • hÌhi_I_fèÉl_sÕ_lóñelY_t0Ðáÿ

  • Best game ever? Half-Life 2 :) Cuz headcrabs are awesome

  • @modnationracerify As for you, go read what i told keyza112. fanboy...

  • @keyza112 even if they have seen you first. both are great games but i will always love halo more. this is just my opinion and i know your probably going to come back with something immature like "N0 FVKING W4Y DO0D C0D2 W!11 A1LW4YZ BE B3T73RZEZ! Y0U A4E F00K1NG DUMB4".

  • @keyza112 lol people like you make me laugh because you probably just played cod 4 or maybe just mw2. you have to have played the old call of duties like "Big red one" and ones like that, and you cant really diss halo, considering that is and always will be the best original xbox game of all time (in my opinion). besides call of duty has that feeling of "if he sees me first then he will kill me no matter what". halo on the other hand has the type of game play where you can still kill some one

  • best game ever: legend of zelda ocarina of time. halo: best story line of a game. cod: best multiplayer/most unique single player missions.

  • Best game ever?

Super rub a dub or hamster ball..

  • @keyza112 HELL YEAH!!!!!!

  • @Thepengun Good point. And the Mario's Time machine
