The latest launch of the Coyote rocket. This rocket had on-board video in the nosecone and was recovered intact. The upper rocket body was damaged by the parachute cord but could be launched again with just a little repair. My goal to launch the Coyote rocket twice in the same day is proving to be more elusive than I had planned but that's part of the fun of amateur rocketry. Next month for sure!

  • Great flight. As an electrician I may have an awnser to the cracked tube. PVC conduit gets real brittle the closer it gets to freezing. From experience PVC conduit will crack by just tapping it with a hammer bellow 45 degrees. Just a thought. Great videos. Great website. Will definatly be picking up your book. A++

  • Thanks dude, you may be right about the temperature.

  • Cool!

Think there's anyway you can stabilize the spinning?

Have you thought about gyro stabilization or actuated fins?

  • I think it would be easier to stabilize the camera instead of the whole rocket but that's another set of experiments for later on!

  • Nice job Dan!

    Make more frequent launches!!! :)

  • Wouldn't that be nice! We're going out again this weekend to try to launch the same rocket twice again. Keep your fingers crossed!

  • your hands are shaking =)

  • maybe it would be better if you'd point your camera downwards.

  • What would happen, if you could somwhow modify the fins, to make the rocket spin? 'Spin stabilised'. BTW, your friend has a nice husky voice!

  • Love the ingenuity, the flight, and the video production -- as always.

What about that remote though? Looks like you adapted it from a "Fart Box" ;-)

  • could you make a whole vid on how to build a coyote rocket fuel delay ect it would be really helpful

  • I just notice that the trajectory of your rockets isn't very straight, probably would get greater altitude if it was.
