@weerpool14 I just came across this video and your remarks. I hope you have gotten over your chemical imbalance or at the very least found professional help for your condition.

Nice job landing there!

weerpool14.If the engine shuts off where the hell you want the pilot to land,Shit you take any good landing spot you can find.If your ass was in the plane and its going down .You will say hell that high way looks good down there..

@lavakava where did you get your figures from, "piston engines are 700!! times less reliabel than jet engines". WTF does that have to with the fact that this guy landed on a highway. It DONT MATTER if you are flying a 777 or a 150, every engine has the same reliability, it's how it is maintained for its lifespan. I hold an A&P, IA, a Private, Commercial & Airline Transport Pilot Licence, & I am rated in Airplane, Rotorcraft, Powered Lift & Glider. So don't think I am talking out my ass.

Who are you calling 14 year old you prick. Who gives a dam fuck if they're trained to do so. I got up that morning to earn an honest living to support a child so won't you shut the fuck up and stop lecturing me about your bullshit.

@weerpool14, are you 14 years old??? you are a stupid moron. did you know that pilots are trained to land on freeways in emergency in case there is no open field.
thanks to the greed of people, most open spaces are taken away for buildings and that limits the choices of pilots.
along with that, consider that piston engines are 700 times less reliable than jet engines, so there are not many options left.
the pilot did excellent job - bitch to the FAA instead about piston engines.

The pilot is being questioned about the 5,000 lb torpedo slung beneath the fuselage!

but he had to wait for the photographers
he now wants to write a book
it will be called: How I landed my plane on the cold I80 River and did not get anyone killed so now I am a hero
