This week we revisit one of our older videos regarding mic'ing an acoustic guitar. Hopefully this video answers some your questions that were posted in the comments section of our older video. We also answer an interesting viewers question, and lastly we show you how to create and use aux tracks in Pro Tools 8. Hope you enjoy the video!

  • Is double tracking or quad tracking where you go back and record the same guitar line again and pan accordingly or is it where you just make a copy(s) of the single guitar track and pan accordingly?

  • @evillemonkey Yeah when we talk about double and quad tracking guitars we're referring to recording the same guitar part over again and panning them hard left and right.

  • is there anyway we could hear some clips with full bodied strummed chords?

  • @NapoleanXV On our Myspace page we have a couple songs from an acoustic band with lots of chords.

  • Thanks for the tips you guys Merry Christmas!!!

  • @headcheesee i'd have to agree, i'm sitting through it for the info but the sound is horrid, and you're teaching audio recording ... sadly ironic

  • can you guys do better quality recordings of yourselves its really unbearable to watch ur videosi like the info you give tho

  • 6....6 claps

  • @lagiator Its Drop D, and this is epic!

  • @evillemonkey i'd like to add that you should never copy the signal... all you're going to get is level gain.... nothing special

  • what's the tuning of the guitar?

  • @evillemonkey Double/triple/quad tracking sounds big because of the slight differences in each take. Copying a track, pasting and panning it achieves nothing more than if you had the one track and turned it up.
