Staying home, yes thats a very good idea..
Sometimes you need some help to get somewhere...like in a little village in the middle of nowhere.
I had a good time, it takes 2 days wage to organize it to get here. A ok deal.
The wage is sometimes about 55 euros net a day, I got food, all drinks ! and a bed.

..And the agency charge you 99.00 pounds before they give you work!!!
So, first you break your back for 4 days to pay them, then the money you get during the last few days is yours... great! Isn't it?!

If you go grape picking for the money, it will probably not be more than just a backbreaking experience. Some people can't see the point, others just love it and keep coming back.
If you like the idea of (mostly) nice weather, singing in the fields together, copious free meals, a free place to stay and all the wine you can drink, it might be more your type of holiday. And in the end you'll go home with more money in your pocket than when you left.
