This is from Heritage dot org, (not dot com as i wrote earlier) a frequently referenced and quoted index, clearly you have no clue of what you are talking about. Please educate yourself.

@AtheistSweden Unless you're counting the US as a third world country, I'd disagree. They have been deregulating industry and finance since the 70s and they're more corrupt than ever. So corrupt that when the whole thing finally collapsed in 2008 they rehired the same guys that scammed the public out of billions as consultants to "fix" the problems.

Now of course overbearing autocracy is also damaging, but this idea that so-called "economic freedom" brings prosperity is not true. Look at China.

@megamarsvin You are making the mistake of labeling corrupt third world countries as deregulated and "right wing" which is not true at all, take Africa for example; if anything, they suffer from bureaucracy and lack of both social and economic freedom, same with South America. My point is that corruption thrives in those kind of systems. Look at Heritage dot com's index / ranking of economic freedom among the world's countries and you will see what i am talking about.

@AtheistSweden Considering current conditions in the right wing deregulated countries of the world, the same can be said for them. Maybe corruption is just a part of human nature, not the result of any particular ideology.

Historically whatever political system is in charge people will rail against as corrupt and evil. Then when it gets replaced and "the good guys" are in charge, surprise surprise, turns out the new boss is no better than the old one.
