This is simply a new way of being; new in the sense that it breaks with orthodoxy in terms of practice and doctrine. It seems we are getting to the root of what it means to be spiritual and the deeper we dive into this the closer we will become to the reflection of the elohim we were created to be.
the reason why the whole church hasn't rallied together around what is, and what here still is, a somewhat esoteric doctrinal axis, is because the historic church has cared about devotional confession.
sure, remove the desire to be particularly confessional, and one will find likeminded a-theologians and churchmen flocking to one's side.
as an observer of the emergence movement, i find the optimism expressed here especially naive, on that basis.
