Thank you for bringing back old sites & memories from the greatest part of my childhood & teen age years! My father is the late Donald(Don) Cunningham who was there from the start in 1961 helping to develop the Bal Mouring from the refinery, while my mother Marilyn, brothers & sister, Rick, Don & Laurie, along with myself Brian, lived in Benghazi until the first family villa's were constructed around '64 - '65 in Brega. It saddens me so to see a community we all built shattered by gunfire.BrianC
Hi there, I've just found this video great! I lived there between 69 and 71, so probably knew zzrrp. We lived at 1263 Cyrene and our garden looked just like yours! I remember school sports day and the boy at the beginning of the film with the blond hair and short crew cut reminded me of my brother! We have some old cine film of the school and stables etc. Anyone still have their Darbuka yearbook?.
Brings back some memories. I lived there summers and Christmas vacations from 1970-1973. Really great fun and friendly people, both the locals and the expatriates.
I have lived there too, near to the English school (now its for both Arabic and English) , I missed summer time in that place, we were like one big family
Wow... Thanks, that brings back some great memories. I lived there from 1969 to 1971. I recognize some of the kids and teachers... And Jr Olympics day LOL.
I lived in a port-a-camp at 1384 Farwa. They were brand new then.
Have you seen Brega on Google Earth? It hasn't changed much in 40 years...
I probably know some of these other posters like rhmoor99 and wormboy 59.
Wow! I lived here from 1990-1994. Best 5 years of my life.
