Re: Let's Write a Sawng (Step 8.Development [Drums])

Okay so I'm not sure if this is a finished product or a rough draft. Regardless, I don't have any means to record my actual drum kit, so I practiced a little bit for real with the song and then transposed it into a sequencer of my choosing, I hope that's cool.

Anyways, this is just a really simple poppy beat to go down easy with our lyrics and melody, but it still drives the song along (at least I think). I didn't want to throw in any heavy fills or anything, because I think it would kind of make the mood of the song suffer, so I just went with nice and simple on this one.

This video is also two parts. The first half of the video is the drums along with music, the second half is just the drums. I figure that could make production easier, and also maybe someone will want to record it on a real kit (yeah right!)

this beat is pretty cool, but i dont like the fills. its like a malidrot drumming. i really dig the simple old school rivers cuomo style. but its a cool way to mess around i love it. but as for this particluar song, it just doesnt work man

The drumming defiantly fits with the song as well as the "Weezer-style". For a punkish song to really get stuck in my head it has to have good drums and bass. Good work.
