And if you had actually listened to the presentation, you would have heard that solar panels could be used to partially offset the power requirements. You'd rather have more loud, polluting buses - or more cars? Also, I've seen detailed photos of the guideway construction, and it's far from flimsy.
Our current system isn't working as well as it should...we need a bold change, and I think PRT is it!

Yeah ... it's about as "environmentally-friendly" as coal soot, since it runs off the grid.
40 mph? Are you nuts?? I wouldn't get into one of those flimsy things at that speed!

Great idea! The Irvine board should have heeded the presenter's advice and installed such a revolutionary system. Experience has taught us that the "same old routine" with transit won't help us get cars off the road. We need to think different if we want to change our auto-dependent culture.

Do you think that 40MPH is to slow?
The average speed of a car trip is just 30MPH as you have to start and stop!
