Thanks for this post. The singer in the band I was in at the time was a fan of Jesse before this record, when he was acoustic folk. When the singer listened to the opening song, "Tears are Falling" he turned to us and said that he could never be as good as they were. For you musicians, I remember that they had RCA Victor instrument amplifiers and RCA sound reinforcement. . I realized that music could be as good as you imagined it could be.

Another beautiful Youngbloods song! (See Four in the Morning) I can listen to this over and over. Joe Bauer really shines here, as do Jesse and Jerry singing harmony. The lyric turns cynical in the last verse, which I wish Jesse had reconsidered, but it's still a very special song. How did this miss being a hit?

I heard them in Ottawa Canada at a real no-booze coffee house called Le Hibou. They were able to do what the Beatles could not: they could actually perform live exactly what they recorded in the studio, and then embellish it.

Gerry Corbett was a real treat, writing fun songs, and playing hot guitar licks that were so much better than most of the overly-stoned crash chord extravaganzas from Haight Ashbury at the time. The Wine Song, Euphoria etc., etc. were great stuff to hear

What terrific footage...thank you for posting. Had the great pleasure of seeing all four in Ottawa in 1967...wow long time ago. They were awesome on stage.

Such an incredible song and it's not on my CD copy of "The Essential Youngbloods." What's up with THAT?!

As a musician and songwriter, I feel the same.

This band was truly fantastic. Their musicianship , songwriting, and groove, were light years ahead of most bands of the same time. . The Youngbloods were up there, along with the Beatles as far as ability...It did change some when Jerry left. Jesse, a force on his own, actually was strengthened by
the others , especially Jerry...
