I bought this bike as a basket case with a blown top end. After a year long complete frame off restoration, my '89 LT250R starts for the first time. This is a fresh top end punch .80 over.

  • @Alcopolo buy twist throttle, every single quad comes stock with thumb throttle's if they have twist, its what the previous rider preferred

  • are they all twist or you make it like that?

  • When I seated my rings on my quadracer my dad just told me to go slow and shift a lot to seat it good, he is the one who did mine and knows a lot about mechanics, so I trusted him. And it runs like a raped ape :D

  • @RoostinAllDay777

Yeah my bad came across incorrect, I only heat cycled through 1/2 tank of gas, and put around for 3 tanks.

  • @rykmc1 wtf are u tlking about...put around man who the fucks gona sit there and run 3 tanks idol......

  • Jesus Dad, dont REV it...

the rings need to seat, ya know break in, all you should be doing is start w/ no throttle and let it idle 20-25 min...then completely cool

rinse and repate that process 5 times, then for 1st 3 FULL tankns of gas drive it 1/3 throttle ranging position, never more than that ammount.

Thats how u break an engine in. DONTREV

And quit freaking out, thats just how they act after a rebuild, you odnt need to mess w/ idle yet or maybe not at all, you need to jet it probably

  • @RM250air I sold it last monday sorry sold it for 200 fresh rebilt ran like a top i hit a guard rail trashed the frame

  • @961blackwolf Do u still have and what yr does the motor belong 2.

  • nice bike man i wish mine was that pretty! lol

  • it just seems 87 was a great year for all dirt bikes and quads..i have 2 87' quad sport 230's they run great compression release, clutch, reverse, the whole bit...then i have a 87 YZ250 runs like new..had a 87 CR 500 that ran forever..i just haven't had any problems with that year a bike, no matter the brand..this is a sweet machine man..wow..
