Just hanging out with my pet chickens. Bessy, Penny, Clementine, Consuela and Gwen. I am feeding them bread, which they love. They are red star chickens.

I put many cute pictures on my website http://classicalchicken.com if you'd like to see more (including their baby pictures :)

  • this is just BEAUTIFUL! i wanted to get black australorps but after reading about Stars (red/black) i think i've changed my mind. I live in the heart of LA and i'm looking for reliable egg layers, quiet, friendly, and docile. I have a big family and i'm sure the kids would love to interact with them... thanks for sharing.. what do you like most about'm? do they make a lot of noise? do you think a 4x4 feet of coup is enough as their home at night? they get to free range in the morning

  • @FookYoo they make noise after they lay egg, but they are quiet most of the time. not sure about the size of the coop (ours is kind of big). they lay nice big eggs. My hens are so friendly they act like puppies. make sure to get them when they are few days old so they get used to you quickly. giving lots of treats helps, too :)

  • What a happy time to play with your lovely chickens, Nicholas. It seems that your chickens can understand you...

  • @OldRabit

Thanks! I think they can understand me, too :)

  • where is this -which state

  • @texasgirly1979

North Carolina. It's hot and humid in summer, but gets pretty cold (below freezing) sometimes in winter, so we just got them a heater in their coop :)

  • I love ALL kinds of birds. They are all wonderful creatures.

  • @nicholaspiano are red star chickens the same as when a white leg horn breeds with a rhode island red?

  • This truly warms my heart. I love it. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • ††† You and your family are awesome †††

for showing the world that all animals, chickens too, can be our friendly loving pets :-) With so many vegetarian food options today, miles of things in grocery stores - we can all easily stop mistreating our animal friends - and establish we are human, civilized and loving - as you well prove!!!!

Thank you for this lovely beautiful video!!

  • NC huh? hey, that's where we grew up, raising chickens inside the city limits. my friend had a coop 1/2 block from nashville elm. school (nashville, nc), lol. three or four houses down from ...i can't remember, Macon Robertson? heck, we used to play basketball in roy coopers back yard (the current NCDOJ). my friend went all out with the coop, 12' high x 20' long x 10' wide connected to an alluminum shed, lol crazy. if i could keep a couple or 10 road island reds in charlotte, nc i would.

  • Love it! very cute :)

  • ohh..what a cute baby...this vid is so sweet...

  • @NicholasPiano Thanks for the info. It's a bit unusual to have chickens in the big city ya know. I love this video so much. I hope city folks get experience this. The friendliness of your chix are out of this world. hahaha. and nicholas seems to be enjoying. good job.
