Son's cerebral palsy result of careless medical mistake

They told that there was complications during the birth. They were going to deliver him no matter what the doctor said. C-section, whatever they had to do, they were going to get him out.
All of a sudden my son's heart rate crashed. They put the air tube into his stomach instead of his lungs. The oxygen that didn't get to his brain when he was first born caused brain damage.
They came out and said your son has had some complications, he's on a respirator, this, that, and the other thing. He had been out of his mom for about an hour.
Basically he was diagnosed then with Cerebral Palsy.
He doesn't walk, talk. He had a feeding tube. The whole 9 yards. He wasn't able to function on his own at all.

I was so relieved finally that I would not have to worry about getting something or requesting something. Anything that he needed, I could get right away. It wasn't anything where I had to wait.
They were very emotionally supportive. They always informed me, let me know what was going on, if there was anything new.
They helped me out financially, also. They paid for certain things, if I needed something, they had some money put in escrow so I would have it if I needed something major for my son.
They prepped me for the trial. I felt really comfortable. I was the first one called, I wasn't even nervous.
They made sure I had home health aides for him. I was able to purchase a house, a handicap van, a handicap lift for outside to get him in and out of the house.
Compensation for my son's lifetime of care. I'd rather be poor and have him healthy. But when something happens, somebody does something wrong, they're going to have to pay for it.
