The only problem I have with this guy, is his speed bursts are always accompanied by these "hey look at me" facial expressions, and they are often out of place in the context of the music. Check out Manitas De Plata Sangre Flamenco for a speed comparison.

@benfrancdesros Exactly. To be honest, i've never understood the fascination people have for shredding, they just want to be impressed by fast scales and have an idol. I want music and i don't care who is playing. For me, the musical expression is the only thing that matters. I know a guy who bought all the albums with the guitarist Lawson Rollins, even though he didn't like the music. It's sad.

@MrLandale Couldn't agree more MrLandale. 'Paco de Lucia Plays De Falla' is one of my absolute all time favourites, but give me a Paco Pena Rumba over some mindless fret shredding anyday.

@matrags I have opionions about the most things when it comes to music.. interpretation, conductors, works, musicans or whatever. He is a good flamenco guitarist, but i don't like his tone. He plays very close to the bridge with nails, it results in a sharp tone. It's not about critticize, it's rather a matter of taste. I personally prefer listen to Paco Peña. He plays more traditional, no display, just pure music.

Some flamenco guitarists spend abviosly more time on practicing timbre than others. Paco has a terrible tone, it's very sharp and treble. Not enjoyable to me.
