MAKE AN EFFORT FOR YOU!!! Not easy since you grew up in a family that would not make an effort for you, so it's probably a new, unknown feeling. Get help from your peers, esp older peers. NEW LIFE!!! Start from nothing? It's not THAT scary. I'm more than twice your age. I would love to be your age and start from nothing. And before you know it, your NEW LIFE will be filled with more REAL, TRUE, POSITIVE stuff than you ever got in 20 years with them.

DO NOT GIVE THEM THAT CHANCE!!!!! DO NOT FORGIVE THEM!!!! DO NOT BE STUPID!!!! DO NOT GO BACK!!!! they don't deserve a second chance. you deserve better. WAKE UP!!!! it's YOUR life, not theirs. They are wrong, stupid, evil and dangerous, and your father threatened your life. His image in the eyes of strangers is more important than his son, THEREFORE he is stupid, dangerous, etc. NOT SOMEONE WORTH making an effort for.

@TheYamspot the therapy was done in Iowa....I know Sam pretty well and sadly this was all here in the U.S. but to see how he turned it all in to a positive is great! He now attends MIT pursuing his masters and Ph.D. in Nuclear engineering and is constantly organizing lgbt events and groups to help others like him

He's kinda cute, and sometimes i feel like that with my family, as they have openly said how dissappointed they are in me. And I said the same thing - I can't change what I never chose. Best line ever and the complete truth. The question is though....would you be straight if you DID have the choice?....erm...no...sorry.

Thank goodness he finally saw the light!

Good Guy Gay
Takes batshit insane bullshit from his family.
Still forgives them and actively seeks to repair his relationship with them.
This dude's family doesn't deserve him.

I wouldn't even keep my family's last name if they did this to me. :/

@jazzhey94 the therapy didn't happen in America. His family was a missionary family, so it probably happened when they were in another country where homosexuality is illegal. There's nothing you can really do about that =/
