This video is dedicated to friends who entrusted me with donations and to all of our loved ones who were with us in spirit during these precious moments. The children sang a welcome song, read a beautiful message, we shared a prayer and I sang them (in Lingala) my peace lullaby*. (I'll add translations soon.) p.s. Special thanks to Tom and Yvette for introducing me to them. xo

A work friend translated the song the kids sang and the message they read for us at the orphanage. It brings me right back.

Hello,
We have the pleasure of welcoming you in our midst to the orphanage called "Providence". On this day, your presence in this place is a sign of your care and consideration for the "Fondation pour l'Afrique" and for us orphans.

We mark your passing and words in our minds. We believe that your care for humanity has pushed you towards us. Allow us to present a couple of lines about the orphanage. In this places, there are 11 children which range from ages 5-11. We are cared for by 4 social workers. We live from the generosity of people of good will, one of whom you are.
