This happened to me too! And I'm not even deaf, yet they send me these nefarious messages trying to cheat money out of me, thinking that I am deaf. "Deaf Lottery, Powerball Deaf Agent" ect.Gets on my nerves.

Yeah...It was happened to me too...It is good to inform for warning deaf people about Nigeria....It was very dangerous and worse....

There are also people who specifically target the Deaf. People who are similar to telemarketers will call a TTY and try to scam the person. My dad knows a hearing woman who translates for a TTY, and she can always tell they are scammers, but the Deaf person cannot always tell, b/c tone of voice and things like that. So sometimes, to protect the Deaf person, she will "accidentally" drop the call. They are scams just like the ones you are talking about in email, only over the phone.
