Woah the chocolate ganache is a GREAT idea! I usually use a butter icing cream underneath the fondant cover, but I do realize it gets too much sweet when you eat it.. Great cakes and great ideas! I really hope to become as good as you!!

Hi. I love your cakes! they are so well finished! look great. I can't get gumpaste to end up smooth; it always parts even when I try to make a simple ball. Any advise as to what I should do? I can make figurines but my gumpaste never has a smooth finish. (?)

@JeanBurke2000 Hi Jean, thank you for your comments!! If it is the letters on the name blocks you are asking about I use a FMM tappit letter cutter from the UK. I hope this helps. Bye for now, Michelle

Michelle your cakes are covered so impeccably do you have any tips on how to get the edges so sharp on a fondant covered cake?

Hi thank you for your great praise i just love getting comments like these!! I think the secret is that I use chocolate ganache underneath the fondant icing which gives me the perfect surface to work on. I only use a thin layer of the fondant icing and cake smoothers to get the edge nice and sharp.
Bye for now, Michelle
