Oh, I love this song. Reminds me of my dad and his parents singing it to me when I was little. Such a sweet little memory. They would not tell me what it was really saying, though. So, I wondered for quite a while what a kiddle-d-divey was!

My mom used to sing me this song all the time when I was a kid.

allthough it sounds like mais eats oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivey, a kid will eat ivey too wouldn't you, the real lyrics are mairzy doats and doezy doats and litle lamzy divey, a kiddley divey too, wooden shoe. lol its called a mondegreen(misheard lyric).

No, it's "Wouldn't you," not "wooden shoe." The rest is true though. I have the sheet music.
