My family used to have a brindle great dane many years ago named Kelev (which means "dog" in Hebrew)...some kids would call him "Tiger' (for the brindle pattern)...other persons called him a "horse"...he ate from a 10-12 inch diameter bowl that we filled with a layer of dry kibble plus 4 cans of dog food (and believe me that he could have eaten more)...he was a gentle dog...I used to stretch his loose neck skin...and if I blew in his mouth, he would lick my face!...I still have dreams about him
