  • I was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks, and my doctor told me that all pregnant women has some glucose intolerance due to the hormones put out by the placenta, just some are worse than others. So even if you pass the 1hr or 3 hr test, its still in your best interest to eat healthy, and consider the diabetes diet a little.

  • @nordicBindweed IF left untreated, yes! Basically if the mother has high blood sugar the whole time during pregnancy, the baby will come out with low blood sugar upon delivery, because he/she is used to having high dose of sugar, or low does if you go hypoglycemia vs hyperglycemia. Its a delicate balance game, and just try and eat as healthy as possible regardless of gestational diabetes.

  • will digestional dibetes affect on baby for later diabetes? or its is just a risk!?

  • blech, i go for my testing may 4th

  • 2-5% of women is 80,000 - 200,000 each year in the US. Wow.
