  • I don't feel anything about professional sports or pro baseball, but Ken Burns has created a fantastic narrative about a subject that so many people are so passionate about. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. God bless Ken Burns.

  • To me, October 25, 1986 goes down as the most depressing day of my entire life. Let me give you a hint. Mookie Wilson of the New York Mets and hits a routine groundball to first baseman Bill Buckner of the Boston Red Sox and OOPS !! goes right between his legs.Eventually the Mets won game 7 and the World Series. I remember that day like people who remembered where they were when Kennedy was assassinated. Just one strike away for the Sox. Yogi Berra said it best : "It ain't over til' its over"

  • @kennygriff24 fuck you boston rules!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO MURPHYS!!!

  • I like the series very much, but it is definitely slanted. After Pittsburgh won the '60 world series, they showed the Yankee reaction to the loss. Mickey Mantle won how many world series? Pittsburgh that year won one of most unusual and exciting world series ever. Ok, I'm biased, I root for Pittsburgh. But why not show some of the teams from cities that aren't in bigger markets and weren't annual contenders and the effect winning had on one of those cities? The '57 Braves come to mind.

  • Ken Burns is so weird...lose the awful-looking "beard" and get a normal haircut

  • @megjonaslove333 there was a whole section on it. get over it

  • Fuck Boston, Fuck New York, and Fuck Barry Bonds. Talk about something else besides the same stupid shit we hear every day.

  • The bottom of the 10th was better than the top half, imho. I couldn't believe there was scant mention of the 1998 Yankees, one of the most dominant teams in baseball history. Certainly ranks among the top world championship teams ever. That '98 club simply overpowered opponents.

I also thought Burns didn't give Cal Ripken's record-setting night its full due. That was some event. Not only the hoopla of breaking the record, but also the fact that Ripken hit a memorable home run.

  • Good vid.
