You should've tested it before installing all the mounting hardware because you would've had to pull out all the hardware anyway and that's a pain to do. And I also would've let it run through both the smoke and carbon monoxide test because the first alert sco1n (as shown) can sometimes have a few problems and that ensures that everything is working fine.
