  • @antipike but there are many times when i wish i had a smaller boat like when i only fish in the river for the day or go to the lake...i still have to put in nearly 35-40 gallons of fuel lol

  • @antipike yes i understand, this boat is made light so it can be launched easily and towed by a small suv or car but it's very limited for salt water...i wouldn't go out of the bay in this boat unless it's flat calm for maybe a few hours...the ocean is very unpredictable and you can't take a chance going out in a small boat like this. i'd prefer my heavier boat since most of my fishing is out in the atlantic.

  • @fishaholic2012 Your missing the point of a lighter boat , this boat has a purpose and is very fit for that

  • @MegaOotje yes thats true but if your staying inland, this boat is fine for the bay and maybe a few miles off shore. here in NJ when you go 30-40 miles out in the Atlantic the waves are at a 6-7 foot minimum...forget about it if the wind kicks up...you'll be looking at the tops of 15' rollers...my 2 ton boat is only 18 1/2 feet long but the hull is very thick and it has a 8 foot beam with a high bow flair and a decent size cabin for storage...

  • @fishaholic2012 It seems just a different way of thinking. I prefer the flexible responce my 1/2 ton boat gives me. That way I go over the wave in stead of through them. Mayby also the difference between my sailboat and someone else his powerboat. Anyway, the small boat can be put on and off a trailer singlehanded, for the bigger boat you need a mate. Just two different things.

  • @MegaOotje take a small boat 40 miles off shore and you'll see why

  • @fishaholic2012 : What do you need such a big boat for? Small boats are much easier to handle.

  • i'd like to see you try that with a solid 2 ton saltwater boat.....you can't spin it around like you do with that toy in the water...
