  • This is amazing! I'm playing the part of Japheth in Two by Two, and I hope that I can bring as much power and feeling to the song as you do! Thanks for the inspiration.

  • @kghobbes -- I am so pleased to hear my song inspired you. And I bet were you wonderful as Japheth!

  • Do you have any footage or pictures of when Danny Kaye originally played in Two by Two in 1971?

  • @timothyissohot -- Alas, few video cameras rolling in 1970. Only photos. But I keep hoping that someday a video will turn up!

  • You are most welcome. You have left a legacy that brings joy and comfort to all who listen. Thank you for bringing more of your performances to the public. All I have had is that one album for 37 years (and the show program to drool over). Stay well and be happy. Robin

  • Beautiful when I saw it in 1971 as an 11 year old girl at her first Broadway show and now as a nearly 50 year old woman. You and Madeline Kahn signed my program which I still have. This was the first tune I downloaded off of ITunes. Your song was the showstopper of Two By Two and you should have won the Tony for it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice with the world. Glad to see more of you on YouTube. God Bless. Robin

  • @iolympian,Thanks for letting my know. If you played Japheth then I'm you sure are being modest about your voice, as it is a most challenging role, both acting and singing. Although I had done musicals in two National Companies, stock, and Las Vegas by the time I arrived on Broadway in 1970, and made my Broadway debut in a play earlier that same year, TWO BY TWO the my musical debut

, a turning point in my life, as well. As for losing your voice, it never goes-it just gets better!

  • @BroadwayGoldnAge, I played the role of Japheth over a decade ago and listened to your song over and over. It was my first time doing a vocal solo on stage, but the role was incredible. I can never claim to have song it anywhere to your caliber (and most likely have lost my voice for singing as I have not done so in over a decade) but listening to you certainly brings back memories of spending my days with your voice in my ears as I studied the part.

  • Richard Rodgers...never be another like him. Put him on the same list with Cole Porter, Jimmy Van Heusen and a few precious others. What has happened to Broadway????? Spiderman? The Addams Family? Puhleeze.

  • @showtunestarpower -- You flatter me yet again, and I couldn't be more pleased. Even though I have been singing this song for forty years, I always strive to live in the moment, and to sing it each time as if it were the first time. To read that you felt I accomplished that touches my heart. Thanks so much.

    Best, WW
