Sam Wheeler had one desire growing up in southern California to go really fast. He built his first streamliner in 1961 at the age of 18 with 20 bicycle wheels and 1/2 electrical tubing from Sears and went 93 mph at El Mirage. After that Sams need for speed would have to wait. He was drafted and sent to Viet Nam.
I found myself thinking, if I ever get out of here alive, Im going to build another streamliner.

He did and the rest is history.

not just at the top of the game but real nice with it, a true gentleman, I met him in Aus in 2006 and he was polite ,funny and interesting. Great stuff Sam.
