Minneapolis/Saint Paul Central corridor construction along University Avenue - June 2011 update

This video was shot from a moving bus (route 16). Therefore you can hear the driver announce stops, engine hum and brakes squeak. The sheer size of this project is overwhelming. If you pause the video frequently and look, you can appreciate the extent of digging and traffic rearrangement involved. It is exciting to see all the familiar landmarks along this route -- Midwest Motel, colorful trucks in Rihm's Truck dealership, Days Inn, Pawn America, green colored Spruce Tree building, McDonalds's and Perkins amongst a few. However did you notice that Porky's has been torn down? If you are like me and the sight of rail tracks excites you, then you will have to wait till Simpson. There you can see the tracks being laid on the ground. I will update this video every few days.
