Rosina Lhevinne celebrated her 80th birthday in March,1960. To commemorate the occasion,Mme. Lhevinne was invited to perform the Mozart Piano Concerto No.21 K467 with the Juilliard Orchestra conducted by Jean Morel.In this performance we hear a pristine interpretation of the third movement from this concerto.

The most beautiful performance of this concerto I have ever heard. She was an incredible pianist and teacher.

I attended the original performance at the old Juilliard School on 125th Street in Manhattan. Many of her world famous students were present. The orchestra was Juilliard's under Jean Morel. It was a celebration of Madame Lhevinne's birthday.. could have been her 90th.

The conductor and orchestra are not Szell and the Cleveland, alas, but the playing here is sublime. I wish Madame Lhevinne has made more recordings.
