i had the surgery last Wednesday and everything went well you are gonna be very scared but trust me it was quick i didnt feel a thing.but make sure yess to ask for the nerve blocker to paralize your arm cuz if you dnt its tremendous pain but trust me its a piece of cake may god bless your surgery.=] im 15

I have to go in for sholder surgery in janurary eaither the 7th or 8th of this year. can any one give any good suggestions what to expect the day of surgery do they normaly do a never block or is it up to the doctor?

I had this surgery on 7/28/09, although I didn't have an rotator repairs; just decompression with debridement, bursa removal and bone spur removal. In addition to full anethesia I got a block which last 18 hours (good move). Fortunately my brusing and swelling was minor. My recovery has been very good. I wanted to find out how they positioned me in the surgery; now I know. Very helpful video for explaining what goes on!!
