This song is one of the "Seven Spanish Songs" from Spanish composer Manuel de Falla. It was recorded in october 2006, a good concert I gave with my pianist friend Federico Bojorque.

  • Hey, great job you did there!

I like your way of singing, very clear and natural. I'm studying lots of Spanish songs as well, so I quite know what you went through. With great result. Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi!

Thank you! This song is so beautiful and delicate and I think that´s the most difficult thing to achieve... it´s easy to sing high and strong but that woulnd´t contribute to the mood, wouldn´t it?

Good luck and I hope you´ll share your experience with me too.

    Greetings,

    Mara

  • Um belo e melancólico cante jondo, em uma interpretação clara e muito sensível.

    Parabéns!

    Ricardo Pinto (Uruguaiana - Brasil)

    Mara

  • Beautiful phrasing, and you have a great, open voice. Phone or still cameras aren't the best for recording these things, but we do what we can, right?

My main advice is to watch the Spanish vowels. they should be brisk and bright, and should be used to pull the voice to the front.

  • Thanks!

    About the vowels...

I´m from Argentina, so the pronunciation shouldn´t be a problem for me. But... the consonants are pronounced VERY different in Spain (even between diff. regions of Spain, as well as in the diff. region of Arg)It´s like speaking a completely different language.

Maybe I should try to be as accurate with spanish pronunciation as we learn to be with other languages.

Sometimes it sounds familiar and we don´t pay enough attention.

    Thank you!
