  • Fabulous! Great job! Please use Vienna for a paw-pad trim. White Poodles are so easy for catching all the details. Vienna is very well trained and you are very skilled. Please give details on your choice of clipper (model and such)? Love your videos, they are the best.

  • @U2Belle Hey thanks! I'll try and video next time, though I have to do them inside now since it's snowy outside now and the light isn't as good. Vienna is actually the least cooperative out of my two, she's SO easily distracted so I had to keep holding her still to keep her from getting nicked. I'll see if I can get a foot video of her (I normally have to lay her on her side for that, more comfortable for each of us.)

Any other requests? Ear hair plucking?

  • Great job! I'm really glad you posted the vid. It's good to review. I had 3 standard poodles until 9 days ago. My angel Layla died in surgery as the vets tried to save her from cancer. She was a big girl like Vienna.

  • @bckennels It's obvious you are completely ignorant when it comes to dog grooming, and especially poodle grooming. The groomer in this video is actually extremely gentle to most groomers out there. So, I encourage you to educate yourself on grooming techniques before you post inflammatory comments on FB. Also, cruelty is when one doesn't groom or brush a poodle (dog) and allows their hair to become matted and filthy. This is incredibly painful as the mats pull on the skin, & feces can build up.

  • @bckennels It wouldn't feel good, that's for sure! That's why it's very important to keep her face still. The blades I use are generally pretty safe, I opt out of a closer shave and use longer blades to make sure it's safer.

Show dogs are clipped with surgical blades (skin close), but the handlers are VERY careful to make sure that the dogs aren't harmed. My blade gives a short shave, while still leaving a tiny bit of hair, this helps prevent nicks and razor burn.

  • @fluffykat1 Oh my god I bet it would hurt if she did it with the clipper/razor!

  • @bckennels I have to hold her nose up in order for me to get the little hairs beneath, and I have to be careful not to let her lick the clippers (it tickles right there) so she won't nick her tongue. It's a delicate place, so she has to trust me in order for me to get it done.

  • @fluffykat1 at 0:09 its just the eyes that made me think 'She looks terrified'

  • @fluffykat1 I didn't mean it that way. I meant just when you took hold of her nose.

  • This is a wonderful video; Vienna is so good. As a groomer myself, I can see that you've worked a lot with her, to groom her outside with lots of distractions and without even a table or loop to keep her steady! Anyway all poodles need a life time of grooming, to NOT groom them would be cruel, so any critics just simply don't know what it's like to own this breed.
