A solo instrumental recording by Jamie Mallender, the bass player for Tony Martin (The Black Sabbath vocalist who replaced Ray Gillen and sang on Eternal Idol, Headless Cross, TYR, Cross Purposes, Cross purposes Live and Forbidden, but was then fired so that Ozzy Osbourne could return to the band.) In July 2009 The Tony Martin Band should have flown to the USA for a 3 month tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Headless Cross. Unfortunately the tour did not happen and Jamie had to return home to his family with no money and no work. Unable to speak out about the reasons for this disaster, Jamie set about recording a new instrumental track to take his mind off things. He poured all his anger and frustration into it and the result was "The Bass Player Answers Back."
The video contains still images of most of the bands Jamie has been in, starting with The Tony Martin Band and going back in time.
Jamie has toured the world with Tony in support of the album Scream. Jamie is an endorsee of Hartke amplification, Rotosound strings and Musicman basses, being a huge fan of the musicman bongo. He is influenced by Billy Sheehan, Bootsy Collins, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, Neil Murray, TM Stevens, Doug Wimbish, Marcus Miller, Glenn Hughes, John Deacon, Phil Lynott, Geezer Butler, Laurence Cottle and Jaco Pastorius.
