Almost 50 years ago, Lucille Teasdale one of Canadas first women surgeons and her husband Piero Corti started a small 30-bed hospital in Gulu, Uganda.
Lacor has survived decades of conflict, the onset of the AIDS epidemic, and an outbreak of Ebola. Today, it treats 300,000 people a year as it trains the next generation of Ugandan medical professionals.
