As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Glenn Nye asked General Stanley McChrystal about plans to provide security along the Pakistani border, and raised the issue of Pakistan cracking-down on militants and terrorists in that country. A former Foreign Service Officer, Congressman Glenn Nye has spent more time on the ground in Afghanistan since 2001 than any other Member of the House of Representatives. In 2003 and 2004, Nye spent more than nine months in Afghanistan, serving alongside American military personnel as a member of the State Department team working to oversee the Afghan presidential elections.
