Igbos have no interest in one Nigeria. The very massive oil wells discovered in Imo and Anambra would be used to silence many riverine areas whose oil wealth has hemorrhaged to the western and northern coffers. Igbos have entered the oil business, the least being a refinery in Anambra. Jitters will soon flow through the spine of many Igbo haters for the Biafra very dear to all us is on the horizon.

Half of the yellow sun is an impressive work.I got to know about the book when I was searching the internet for information on Nigerian Biafran war, after reading the abstract that was available on the web at that time,I became curious about the author right there. However, when I travelled to Finland to visit my girlfriend, she had the book ready as a surprise gift to me.Chimamanda is an outstanding talent.I am proud of Igbo race.

The symbolism-half of the yellow sun is in the flag of Biafra. Do you portray Engligbo as a language of its own?

I understand your anger and why you have so much hatred towards Nigeria. Its leadership has failed it and its "peoples". I get the same reaction from Israelies when questioned about paletenians and vice versa. They all seem to generalise but, we are human; slaves to our emotions; "irrational" (No disrespect intended to you Sir). Nigeria's leadership has not only failed the people of the south east but, everyone. Do you pray a better world for all or just your kindred?
Is anybody stopping you from seeking reconciliation with anybody? Or is it that you killed more than two million of my people, and ever since you have continued to slaughter more and to threaten more carnage. Biafra is not at war with anybody; have never declared war on anybody. Instead it has been at the receiving end of Nigeria's evil and brutality. Wounds will only heal if you and your evil country will change your wicked ways, not when you continue to cratch it open with jark knife.

Beautiful book. Just finished reading it for my African Studies essay assignment. I cried. I found myself cheering for the Biafrans to win.
Also, I have been researching about the war, its like an obsession now...lol.
Very Tragic....I hope they find Olanna's twin sister.
