I used a memory technique (which ewerybody can learn!) where I turned coordinates of places to words and then memorized them. I was too lazy to memorize the border lines accurately so the northern finland looks a bit weird... Anyhow there is about 350 points, 1400 numbers.
I had the names of the places on a list to make things faster, and even then the drawing took about 3 hours!
This is how its done: Lets measure the distance of Jyväskylä from stockholm (origo), its about 430km east and 320km north. In my "2 numbers / word" -system 4 = P, 3 = R and 2 = K, so we could get finnish words PiRu (devil)(43) and ReKka(truck)(32). Now we know that the devil drives a truck in jyväskylä and so we can remember the distance from origo.
With this technique you can allso memorize points in pictures and then draw them to grid paper accuratedly to help your drawing.
I haven't found no proven method to get a accurate photographic memory and don't believe that there is any.
But there is a lot of scam and fooling at this site.
@siafulinux I measured every distance from stockholm, so the stockholm (sweden) is the coordinate x00,y00 In automation terms, locationing is absolutic, not incremental...

It looks like you started off with a bunch of "dots" in a grid. Was this something of an overlay you made on the original map to make reference points from which to "space" your locations with? For example... at the third dot from the left, second row up, about 2 inches up is [place] and s on?
