Maréchal Petain was elected as President of the French Republic by the National Assembly on 10 July 1940.

Despite Cold War propaganda, the fact remains, France fought for Hitler and against the Allies during WWII.

Millions of frenchmen worked and fought for Nazi Germany. Tens of thousands of them fought and died for Adolf Hitler, wearing the uniform of the S.S. They had their own S.S. division, the Number 33 Charlemagne.

Only 133 frenchmen fought for the Allies. One of them, Colonel de Gaulle, promoted himself to the rank of General and spent the war broadcasting speeches for a minuscule resistance in France that never achieved any meaningful success.

After the WWII, American and Britain found convenient to present France as an ally in order to counterweight Soviet influence in Continental Europe. Political expediency, not historical reality.

  • france fought for the germans is not a big secret ! very good video indeed !

  • When France gave up the Polish Forces in France had more than 80 000 soldiers but French government didn't informed the Polish Command that that France gave up, our commanders got this information accidentaly a few days after the fact so we couldn't move them to UK, only 24 000 of Polish soldiers was succesful on their way to UK and became the most powerfull alliant of UK at the first war period.

  • Americans have re-paid France for their help during our fight for freedom at least ten-fold... French fighting lasted all of a month b4 surrendering to the nazi's... The French resistance fought with more honor & brave sacrifice, than did the entire French military... They were seriously out-gunned, out-matched & totally unprepared for a war with Germany.. To me, France's complete ineptitude cost the Allied effort seriously. Their complete defeat, probably added a year to the war in Europe...

  • parisienne, tete de chien! :)) German troops marching in pARIS look so good!

  • Good stuff, wish the video didn't end.
