How fair, white, and delightsome to allow them lowly coloreds the LDS Priesthood!!

That's right Spencer. Something was on the horizon that was very important. Like the radical black panther group. Riots in Watts CA. Black members in South America that had been given the priesthood and married in the temple. This sounds like the voice of God telling the white and delightsome leaders of the church to stop the bigotry.

I bear my testimony that we are all Heavenly Fathers children,... and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

this ban was done out of compassion. I realize for some that is hard to understand. The two most hated groups in America at the time were the blacks and the Mormons. To unite them at the time would have allowed evil men to focus all their hate on one group.

It was a great a hard thing Brigham Young did to preserve the black race in the land.

Thanks for sharing this. I know many members who didn't and still don't understand why/how the priesthood was not available to all for a period of time. I don't know the answer either but I do know that I'm glad that all men can have the priesthood now. I have had so many witnesses that this is the true and living church. I'm grateful that all my friends can share it.
