This was the first season the series was filmed in color- but CBS originally presented it in black and white through the end of season two [they were at odds with RCA/NBC over colorcasting programs from 1959 through '65, because CBS chairman Bill Paley felt scheduling color shows would only help RCA sell more of their color TV sets]. It wasn't until season three that Lucy was finally seen in color {the earlier episodes were eventually seen in color, starting with prime-time repeats in 1966}.
