I hadn't played the original Duke Nukem games, nor am I a big fan of the FPS genre. But I had fucking fun with this game. The reason I think most people hated it was due to high expectations. It didn't meet their expeectations, so they dislike it. It's the Phantom Menace all over again. It's not perfect(for example, loading times are a bitch), but it's nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be.

People hated this game because it wasn't call of duty, gears of war or halo. They don't understand that it's not that type of game. It's for Gamers who grew up through most of the 90's and have been there from Duke's beginning. Sure the graphics weren't very good. But the game was finished in 2008! Gearbox just got the permission to release it and the only thing they made was the online. (which is why the graphics are better online) The game is 5 years old. It just got released 10 months ago.
