This is me beating Event 41 on the "Hard" difficulty in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, played on my computer using Dolphin, the Wii emulator.

Dolphin version: Dolphin SVN R 4466
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7-920, overclocked to 3.60 GHz
Graphics: Dual-SLi Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 Core 216, overclocked
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6 GB DDR3 RAM
Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X SLi

Graphics plugin: Dolphin D3D9 (I recommend using this plug-in as opposed to Dolphin OpenGL)
Resolution: 1680x1050 fullscreen
Anti-aliasing: 16xQ CSAA
Anisotropic filtering: 16x

These are the highest graphics settings possible on Dolphin.

Dolphin easily runs SSBB at full speed. The emulation is smooth and consistent, especially with the Dolphin D3D9 graphics plug-in, and looks great too. This video was recorded with FRAPS, which does cause some mess-ups here and there, as you can see in this video. However, when FRAPS isn't recording, Dolphin never slips up! =)

The graphics quality that you can achieve on this emulator is absolutely amazing - even surpassing the Wii's itself! If you know what you're doing and you have a half-decent computer, running this game at full speed shouldn't be a problem! Dolphin is a wonderful piece of work, and is arguably one of the greatest emulation projects of all time.

Don't even try to call this a fake recording pulled from a Wii. There's a reason why there are emulation notes at the top of the screen at the beginning of the recording. Besides, you can see my mouse pointer the entire time.

  • You have 16 cores. I have 1 XP

Nice video! 5 Stars for giving me a shock!

  • haha thanks man.

  • Hi i use D3D9 plugin and antialiasing doesn't work at all..how did you managed to get it working???

  • Not really sure, I didn't do anything. I just turned it on and it worked.

I would suggest looking at your video card to see if it is good enough for anti-aliasing, and also check if your Super Mario Galaxy game file is PAL format.

I play Super Mario Galaxy [PAL] on Dolphin too, and it works fine for me.

  • you've got a powerful Rig there mate :) dual GTX's are the main reason for the smooth play I guess, you must be able to play FFX on PCSX2 no problems aswell!! very nice!!

  • @zideeq Thanks!! never heard of PCSx2, but i googled it and it looks interesting! i will certainly try it.
