Fitting today.. I talked to a veteran from D Company of the 506 just today he was a replacement after the Bulge and joined up in Jan. of 1945 as a replacement told me about liberating a concentration camp just inside Germany....he said it was very real...and is mad that people are denying the camps existing...he said he was there and it was horrible! the smell was the worse...I can only Imagine the stench....he is quite a guy...enjoy speaking to him.

which famous picture of the Major in front of the gateway? didn't know there was a picture of Dick Winters at Brécourt. The only one I know of is him standing in front of Landgoed Schoonderlogt near Elst in Holland.

I visited Brecourt Manor myself with my dad a couple summers back, and saw the memorial to Easy Company. Though we couldn't get onto the field itsself, it was still a great place to visit. Though it's just a field now, actually having been there and having known what happend at that site, it was a very moving experience.

I've been at Brecourt in 2008 and it is really worth the visit.
Also this year I had a great time visiting Normandie. 5*
