  • watching this video made me realize something: there is no way they will EVER get a bi-partisan bill on this one. Look at the republicans, how fucking out of touch insane they are? There is no middle ground to be found with loonies...

  • dude, a public option could not possibly keep prices high simply because it is not compulsory. It is an option. If u don't like their product, u stay with ur private option.

  • wanna cut spending? get rid of social security. people should work no matter how old they are. how did reaching a certain age become a license to loaf? s.s. is the ultimate welfare program. as long as it exists any other spending cuts are just a joke. but no tea baggers address s.s. do they? hmm, i wonder why? not to mention medicare, the abomination that steals medicine out of baby's mouths in favor of people who'll be dead soon anyways. brilliant!!!

    *sigh*

It's clear that the Lion's died too soon. Only one person has actually learned from the ways of Ted Kennedy, and he's taking flak from all sides of the political spectrum for it.

  • At the risk of taking flak from all sides, I feel it necessary to explain that there are two differences between Biblical times and today. Firstly, slavery wasn't deemed as an immoral thing back then - it was common to have slaves and slave owners- however, morals and ethics do change. While I will agree that religion has had its negatives and has helped to cause SOME of the issues of this world, it's also helped to solve these same issues and mistakes, as you yourself pointed out..

  • I don't need ANY Media source to prove to me you:

promise unlimited amount of idiots, unlimited "care" w/ L-I-M-I-T-E-D paper = "Rationed Care"

  • I agree it was a social construct of the time, slavery was an institution that was practiced over many cultures, with differeing guidelines on what you could do. But the old institutions of slavery in Eurasia, namely indentured servitude were abolished in favour of enslaving my forefathers who were deemed less than human, or at least less than a man.

  • Like what?...Fox is main stream media too if u didn't realise. Have u read the bill or have u listened to Bill?

  • I agree, religion played a large part in abolishing slavery and in civil rights. However, religion also played a HUGE part in justifying slavery and for the oppression of blacks. The defenders of slavery always used the bible, because slavery is strongly endorsed in the bible.

    Leviticus 25:44-46

    Exodus 21:2-6

    Exodus 21:7-11

    Exodus 21:20-21

    Ephesians 6:5

    1 Timothy 6:1-2

    Luke 12:47-48

All these passages clearly support slavery and even tell masters how to beat their slaves!

  • I think I might die from GOP induced schadenfreude OD this coming election cycle. It's just too much.

  • seriously lol
