If it were not for the byzantines the middle east and the rest of the world would be living in the dark ages still.. Christian Europe created the modern world !! muslims had nothing to do with it...accept the truth or be ignorant...

The medieval period had to occur, the barbarians, the goths, vandals, the Huns, did not care about literature nor good government.The Eastern Roman Empire protected all the great works of the ancient world and copied them multiple times...such books from Ptolemy,Plato, Aristotle, Homer were preserved until the West was ready for them. Not only did they preserve knowledge, It was Byzantium that stood in the way of the Persians and the muslim armies blocking them from conquering Christian Europe.
