Within Our Gates

Oscar Micheaux's remarkable second film was his initial counter to D. W. Griffith's The Birth of Nation. Audiences were stunned. The film was lost for over sixty years until a single copy was discovered in Madrid, Spain in 1990 labeled La Negra with spanish intertitles.

disturbing, but not as disturbing as D.W. Griffith's Birth of a Nation this rebuts. a must-see.

she=the old man's daughter? as sick as those individuals were, it surprises me that he didn't try 2 take her anyway! sick bastard! check out CSI Season 1 "Blood Drops." I've seen that sometimes truth=stranger than fiction, having seen a real life case of part of what took place in "Blood Drops."

Merge the preacher character and the butler who runs and tells, and you got that's Micheal Steele. He even looks like him. That's interesting when you realize that this was made in the 19teens
